Hanger Steak, cut from the diaphragm, gets its name because it hangs, surrounded by kidney fat, from the loin. The steak is often called "butcher's steak," because in the old days, if the hanger was damaged, butchers would take it home. It has a good, rich flavor.

  • Steaks ship fresh, never frozen, uncooked, and with ice packs, may thaw in transit
  • When you receive your order you should immediately refrigerate all meat items
  • We recommend that you eat all meat products within 1 week of arrival for best results
  • Once items are removed from the plastic, they should be consumed within 48 hours

The best hanger steak you can find!

This is the 2nd time I've ordered hanger steaks as they are not often available at my local butchers. They are a family favorite and like all items on Pat LaFrieda's exhaustive meat menu, they never disappoint! I'm sure they will be ordered again soon.

Great Beef Flavor

Hanger can be tough if not cooked properly.
Sous Vide'd one at 131 Degrees for 4.5 Hours and it was perfectly tender. Also one 10 oz. is enough for 2 people.
No one's beef compares to Pat LaFrieda beef.
