I am a long time Pat Lafrieda customer. And every time I cook one of their steaks the first bit I take I always say "this is the best steak I have ever had!"
Yes it is expensive but it is also worth it. I have my own secret recipe for cooking inside: Put the oven on to 500 degrees. Put my cast iron pan in the oven. Leave it in the oven for two hours Take out the steak and salt with sea salt. Let the steak sit for an hour or so. Let the cast iron pan get truly hot. Remove and add some olive oil, add the steak. Get a great sear for two minutes and flip the steak, add butter and rosemary. two more minutes. Turn the oven off. Put the steak back into the oven, let it come up to the temp you wish. I prefer rare!
Overall the quality of the meat was great, tasted great. Only thing was the filet side was pretty small, definitely wouldn’t have picked that particular steak if I had choice. Probably wouldn’t order again due to this. Have ordered porterhouses in the past and this was more like a tbone
